The crazing testing is one of important tests for cUPC ceramic sinks with long-term use. There some standards to select the test specimen, which should be a fragment of a vitreous china sink with a glazed surface of around 3200 mm2 and be not more than 16 mm in thicknss.

The first step in testing process, it’s that the specimen should be immersed in a fifty percent calcium chloride solution at a temperature of 110 ± 3 °C for 90 minutes. Then, it should be immediately removed in the ice water at 2.5 ± 0.5 °C until chilled. What’s more, it need also be immersed in a one percent methylene solution at room temperature for 12 hours. In the end, it’s important time to carefully examine the testing specimen for any craze lines, as indicated by penetration of the blue dye. Generally, a cUPC certificated ceramic sink shouldn’t have any crazing.
