How to Unclog a Bathroom Sink?

Logging of sinks happens sometimes and it can be really annoying. What do you usually do when your bathroom sink is blocked?
 
In our previous post, we have discussed the causes for clogs in the bathroom sink. Now in this article, I have listed several ways of dealing with the clogged bathroom sink. These are also advices that professional plumbers give. There must be one method that will work for you.
 
1. Pull out the blockage with a drain cleaning tool
You can either purchase a “Zip-It” drain cleaning tool, or make a DIY cleaning tool by yourself. But make sure that your DIY tool is long and strong enough. Then you need to use the cleaning tool to pull out the blocking stuff, usually clumps of hair.  
 
2. Pour boiling water, or vinegar & baking soda
You can also try to melt some stuff that blocks the sink by pouring boiling water. In addition, vinegar and baking soda may also help. Mixing the vinegar and baking soda will cause a certain chemical reaction, which has a significant effect on clearing out the clogs.  
 
3. Plunge with a plunger
Can a plunger be used to remove the sink clogs? Yes. To do this, you just need to put the plunger, a clean one of course, on the top of the drain opening, and then push down and pull back to suck the blocking objects up.
 
4. Take apart the P-trap
P-trap refers to the curved section of the pipe under the sink, where obstructions usually accumulate. Therefore, it’s useful to take apart the P-trap and clean it.
 
5. Ask for help from a plumber
If all the above methods do not work for you, you’d better call plumbers for help. After all, those guys are experts in this aspect and they can offer you professional help.
